When we think about leading our families, it’s important to remember that we are answering a special call. This isn’t just about parenting; it’s about shepherding, serving, and stewarding with love and grace.
God invites us to rest in Him, follow Him, and abide in Him. These invitations are at the heart of being a strong family leader. It starts with seeking His forgiveness and choosing to live a life that turns away from wrongdoing. Even though Jesus has already taken our sins upon Himself, we need to recognize where we fall short and strive to reflect His goodness every day.
Trying to lead without God’s help can be overwhelming. When we rely on our own strength, we open the door to challenges like anger, jealousy, and other harmful behaviors. But when we lean on God, we find the strength we need, as 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 reminds us: His power is made perfect in our weakness.
In my journey with God, I’ve learned that following Him doesn’t take away joy—it fills life with lasting joy. Fun may last for a moment, but true joy is enduring. A life lived in God’s love brings peace to our families and breaks cycles of pain and sin.
Today, remember God’s invitations: follow, abide, rest, and seek His forgiveness. Through this, we can lead our families with joy, creating homes filled with love and grace.
**Today’s Application:**
Take a moment today to pause and pray with your family. Ask God for His guidance and strength to lead with love. This simple act of prayer can unite your family and set the tone for a day filled with grace and understanding.
