Are You Doing the Right Thing… the Right Way?

As men called to lead—our homes, our families, and ourselves—we must regularly pause and ask hard questions. Not just “Am I doing enough?” but “Am I doing the right things? And am I doing them the right way?”

That’s leadership.
That’s stewardship.
That’s obedience.

In that spirit, I’ve taken time to evaluate the devotional rhythm I’ve been following.

For the past several months, I’ve been posting five devotionals each week—Monday through Friday. But after reviewing the data, reflecting in prayer, and reexamining my calling,
I’ve decided to shift to a three-day posting schedule: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Here’s why:

Low Engagement on Some Days – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays consistently receive the lowest views and interaction. Rather than continue out of habit, I’m choosing to focus on the days when men are showing up, listening, and engaging.

Time Stewardship – This devotional work is one of my greatest joys. But it’s also extremely time-consuming. I want to continue offering depth, truth, and challenge—without burnout. Quality over quantity.

Intentional Shepherding – The message of Men of the Shepherd isn’t about busyness. It’s about purposeful leadership. Every message I share must reflect that same heart—evaluating, adjusting, and growing.

So what does this mean for you?

It’s a challenge.

Take a hard look at your own life.
Where are you spending time that no longer bears fruit?
What needs to be pruned to grow deeper roots?

As shepherds, we don’t just press on—we pause, reflect, and recalibrate.

Starting this week, join me every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday for new devotionals designed to equip you, challenge you, and help you lead like Jesus.

Stay faithful. Stay focused.
Lead on, brothers.
