I, Me and MY…

We work every day, finding pride in our roles—whether as mothers or fathers, brothers or sisters. We take pride in our tasks, our projects, hobbies, homes, cars, clothes, and even our children and families. But amidst all this, do we pause to reflect on whose we are? What is our image of God? Do we see Him as strong, faithful, trusting, and loving? Or do we project our frustrations and anger onto Him? Is God our mirror, or do we see Jesus when we look at ourselves?

What does your mirror reflect? When you worship, are your prayers, music, smiles, and handshakes truly for God, or are they about you? If your worship is for yourself, why does it often only manifest in church? Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:6 that what matters is not what we do in public, but what we do in private with our Father.

Pride leads to destruction, as illustrated by the plagues in Exodus. Yet, it is when we are emptied of pride—of “I,” “me,” and “my”
—that we can be filled with the Holy Spirit (John 3:30).

Center yourself in Him, worship the One who calls us to “Follow Me.” When we are depleted of pride and ready to be filled, He gives us eternal life. Once filled with His Spirit, our pride is no longer in ourselves but in Jesus. His glory becomes our reflection, allowing us to lead our families with the bold declaration:
‘I’ am a child of God. He loves ‘me’, and He is ‘my’ God.”
