My Grace Place – Jesus Loves Me This I Know

I have a dear friend, someone I’ve grown closer to recently—a wonderful man of God. I’ve come to call him my “grace place,” a nickname that truly fits. He often sings a simple, yet profound children’s song, “Jesus Loves Me This I Know.” If you’re not familiar with it, you can listen to it here. It’s a beautiful reminder of God’s love.

During my devotional time today, which my friend had encouraged me to prioritize, I had a revelation. Through the time spent reflecting on God’s Word and His love, I realized something powerful: I am worthy. I have to write that one more time: “I Am Worthy!

Wow! That feels good – real good… read on…

I’ve known this in my mind (intellectually) for years, but today, I truly felt it in my soul.  Today, I ‘know‘ it.

Know – The Greek word “γινώσκω” (ginōskō) in the New Testament means to know through a deep personal experience or intimate understanding [between two people].

That’s what happened to me—I know I am worthy now, in a way that fills me with joy.

Since the day I was saved, I’ve wrestled with feelings of unworthiness. I questioned whether I was good enough to serve God, which held me back from fully stepping into the roles of shepherding, serving, and stewarding. It kept me from being the father, husband, and servant leader God called me to be. But today, I realized that doubting my worth was prideful and sinful, and I asked God for forgiveness, even though His love and forgiveness have always been there.

If you’ve ever felt unworthy or unloved, I urge you to ask God to show you your worth. His love is beyond our understanding, but when you ask Him to reveal it, you will find Jesus in a deeply personal way. It’s a faith walk, a journey of discovering His immense love for you, and the joy that comes with this realization is both cleansing and fulfilling.

Someday, you might find yourself singing, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so,” with a new understanding of how deeply true those words are.
