Shepherding Your Family with God’s Presence

Before we can shepherd our families, we must first grasp the profound truth that God is with us. We cannot effectively lead our families until we deeply ginosko—know through experience—the wonder of God, His vastness, and greatness. We must also understand the living sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which brings God close to us, dwelling with us and in us through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Leading and shepherding your family requires this knowledge. Without it, it’s like claiming to be part of a baseball team, playing on the field, while merely sitting in the bleachers, enjoying a hot dog, and waving a banner.

Jesus’ living sacrifice calls us to identify with His death and resurrection, making our lives a living sacrifice that glorifies Him. Through this, our families will witness His glory in us, leading to His glory being reflected in them. Our example of dying to self brings not only eternal life but also life to our family.

When we surrender ourselves to Him, He draws near, dwelling with and within us. Through Jesus and our living sacrifice, we become acceptable to God, and our families are blessed by His presence through us.
