Parents: Seeing God’s Gift in Your Children

Parents, look at your children and family. What do you see? You see a child of God, uniquely and wonderfully made, not by your own doing, but by God’s divine plan. Science gives us glimpses into how life forms, but it is God who carefully crafts each one of us. This amazing gift, no matter how old, has been entrusted to you with love and care.

Your role as a parent is part of your spiritual growth. God has placed these children in your care, asking you to shepherd, steward, and serve them as an act of love for Him. This is servant leadership—guiding, protecting, and nurturing your children, reflecting God’s love in every action.

As you lead your family, remember that you are not perfect. We all sin, but we must live a life of repentance. Acknowledge your mistakes, seek forgiveness, and commit to loving God and others through your actions. In Luke 10:27, Jesus reminds us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.”

Through shepherding, stewarding, and serving your family, you show God’s love and fulfill the high calling of parenthood.
